On Sunday, October 12, 2008 the stated meeting of Trinity Presbytery will convene at 2:30 at Fairview Presbyterian Church in North Augusta.  This will be the first stated meeting that will be held on a Sunday as directed by the new mission directive that was adopted by presbytery at the February 9, 2008 meeting.  Each of the next four meetings will be "themed" with the October meeting concentrating on communication.

How Effective is our Financial Communication?
As the weather cools and leaves begin their turning, many churches launch their annual stewardship campaign.  How do your congregants view the connection between faith and money?  Are there programs in place to educate people about that connection?  Did you know that different generations, differ in how they think about money?  The Parish Paper, a publication that Trinity Presbytery used in the past is back with a great piece about money and faith.  You may reproduce the entire article or even parts of it as long as you give credit to them.  Please feel free to put it on your website or in your newsletter.  Hopefully, it will lead to deeper discussions about money and how the church communicates it's relationship to and needs of to its members.  Click here to download the article.
Churches Beware!
air conditioner that has been strippedThe presbytery office has been made aware of something that happened in Charleston-Atlantic Presbytery Westminster Presbyterian Church in Charleston recently had their air conditioning units broken into and the copper wire stolen.  The cost of copper has escalated to the point that it is now a target of thieves.  Churches are encouraged to keep outdoor lighting on all night in the areas of the units to discourage the robbers.  These folks are so skilled at their "vocation" that they are in and out very quickly, leaving a unit that is often irreparable.
